We are back from the river and a wonderful weekend! We had so much fun that our weekend just flew by way to fast! Did I tell you that it was hot?!? The heat was really uncomfortable, but due to having a wonderful air conditioner, our trip was not uncomfortable! Mommy and daddy spent Saturday morning preparing for our boat ride and swimming fun. Daddy worked to get everything loaded on the boat that I would need, I think I overheard him ask mommy if she had packed my entire room. I think he was just kidding with her about all the stuff she had him load up for our boating fun. My mommy is such a worry wart! An hour before we were to load the boat, she went into panic mode because she realized for the first time that the sunscreen she bought wasn't okay for babies my age. It told her that she would have to ask Dr. Dan before using it on me! I'm sure you can imagine how the story goes from here! She called the Dr., but couldn't get anyone. Daddy called his Dr. friend, but he couldn't get him either. Mommy was about to blow her top when she decided to call her mommy, MawMaw Williams. She wasn't too happy when she got off the phone with MawMaw because MawMaw told her she didn't think there was any sunscreen that was made for babies my age. She said she thought I would just have to stay as much in the shade as possible. Well to make a long story a little shorter, mommy ended up with a fun crab shaped float with a sun shade built in, thank you Ottie and PawPaw Brewer, for me to swim in.
By the time this ordeal worked itself out, it was almost 3:00! We loaded the boat and off we went! I fell asleep immediately! But, when the boat stopped and it was time to swim, I was ready to go! I turned into a waterbug, so mommy says. I played so much that when the time came to load up to go back, I was exhausted and ready for another nap! Mommy says that I am such a good boy, whatever that means.
This morning, mommy decided since I did such a good job swimming in the river, after we ran some errands she would suprise me with a backyard river. She worked so hard blowing up this fun looking pool with a mushroom canopy that her face turned red and she said she was out of air (I seriously doubt that... hahaha). Once she got me all ready, off to the backyard we went! I had a great time trying to catch the floating mushrooms that I worked up a hungry belly. Needless to say, I was screaming for food so we called it a day. Hopefully we'll get back out there very soon! However, this weekend is father's day and I've got some shopping to do for my favorite person! So... I think swimming can be put off until my plans for a perfect father's day are complete. Enjoy the pictures of me swimming in the pool today. I'll post more pictures of the river trip later tonight!
See ya!
Alex
