Yesterday was an awesome 1st day of the new year! Daddy was off and so I spent most of the day playing and cuddling with him. We did manage to watch some of the FSU football game which was Coach Bobbie Bowden's last game. Thankfully, it was a good game and our team WON! Mommy spent most of her morning cooking Greens and Peas. She tried to explain to me how on the first day of each year we have to eat Green (dollar) and peas (cents) so that we will have a prosperous year?!?!?!? I really didn't understand, so she just told me it was an old saying and tradition in our family. That made more sense to me :) She also tole me she was cooking some good mashed potatoes, pork chops, and cornbread to go with it! That made GREAT sense to me and I couldn't wait to get that food on my plate!
While Daddy grilled, I played outside for as long as I could take it! Did I mention it was COLD/39 degrees!!!!! I was bundled up with my boggin', big jacket, and gloves! I rode around on my tractor and played with my big blue ball while mommy took some pictures. She then left me and Daddy to go in and make the final preparations on our New Year's Day meal. Daddy and I took that opportunity to jump on the Golf Cart and go for a visit
in the campground. There wasn't many people there and I was getting pretty cold, so we came on back for some much needed lunch! Even though I was cold, I wasn't too happy about having to come in that is until I saw the food!!!! Yum, Yum, Yum! I ate a whole plate full. I didn't want to hurt mommy's feelings, so I tried some greens and peas - but .... shhhh.... YUCKY! They were awful!
After a big lunch, it was time to clean out some of my baby toys to make room for my big boy toys that Santa brought. We all headed to my room where I helped bag up a bunch of stuff and rearrange some things in my room (we have special visitors coming in 2 1/2 weeks and they are staying in my room). After all that cleaning out, it was time for some couch time and a Veggie Tales movie! I love BOB the tomato! He makes me laugh! Mommy had promised me one more ride on the Golf Cart before dark , so after the movie I bundled up again and we were off! It was even colder outside than earlier and our trip on the
GC was a short one. I was definitely not a happy camper after that ride. It just wasn't long enough and I didn't to go back inside. I really "showed out" as Mommy said! Once I got myself back together, we loaded up and went out for dinner. Mommy said that was for me :) After a good meal, hot bath, and more Veggie Tale fun, I called it a night!
It was really a wonderful start to our New Year! I can't wait to see how the rest goes. Today we have some running around to do. Should be fun! I'll catch up with you guys later!
Bye for now!
Alex
