April 27, 2011

April 27, 2011 will forever be remembered as the day the Wades and the Tornados hit Gadrock!!!

Hello Everyone! It's me Alex!!! Trying to get the computer away from Mommy and Jorja is a task. Jorja has been on it for the last hour and just now Mommy was trying to get on it. However, I talked her into letting me have it to tell you all about our last week and all the excitement that came with it.

First, Mrs. Barbara, Abby, Reagan, and Blaire came to visit us. Mrs. Barbara always brings fun where ever she goes, but this time along with the fun she brought some scary stuff. I'm only kidding Mrs. Barbara, we know you didn't bring the storms with you. They were headed our way well before you got here. I will give you much credit though for making a trip to the storm shelter WAY cool : ) I never knew that riding out tornadoes in the shelter could be so much fun. On a more serious note, we were very lucky that the tornado didn't come across our path. It was supposed to, but God decided to take it another direction. There were many people in our state that day that can't say that. Mommy and Daddy have been talking about how terrible it was for those people and how we should try and help them as much as we can. So, we've spent this week going through my toys and picking out some stuff that I don't really need that some other kids would appreciate that lost their toys. I'm not going to say it has been the easiest thing giving up my toys, but I am learning that it is the right thing to do in this kind of situation.

Now, back to Mrs. Barbara and her fun family!!!! They arrived on Wed. afternoon well before the storms arrived. We laughed and played, and played and laughed before we headed to MawMaw and PawPaw's to help her unload and get settled in. After that, we picked up some yummy supper, brought it back to our house, ate, and then got ready to go for shelter. Like I said earlier... scary yet fun all at the same time. The next day William arrived and we planned a trip to B'ham with all the Wades to welcome him to the family. William is one cool dude! I really like looking at him especially once I found out that he wasn't coming home with us. I think I can only take one new baby in my house right now! The trip to the hospital was fun! It got better once we arrived! I had forgotten how much fun it was to ride the elevator and run up and down the halls. Needless to say, our trip was great and ended with the best burgers in town! Friday brought more fun around the house. We played in the backyard and made the most of our last day of fun. We hated to see Mrs. Barbara and her family leave, but we will always have the pictures to remember how much fun we had. Now we are looking toward more fun this summer with the Wades at the "Castle"! (Hopefully all of them this time!!! hint, hint)
Talk to you all soon!
Alex
