Fantastic 4th of July

Wow! What a weekend I've had! All the fun started Friday morning when I woke up and saw I was in the bed with Mommy and that Daddy was there also. I was so surprised to see Daddy that I kept on looking at him to make sure I wasn't mistaken. Mommy assured me that it was indeed Daddy and that he was going to get to spend the day with us. That was the best news I had heard in a while. I wiggled and wormed my way over to him in the bed and we just hung out for a while. Mommy left us to our business so that we could catch up on our time together.

Once Mommy decided that she had given us all the time together she could stand, she joined us! That's when Mommy finally spilled the beans about our plans for the day. She told me that one of her best buddies, Mrs. Barbara, and her daughter, Abby, were coming to visit. She told me about all the fun times they used to have when they were younger and how neat it was that they both have family's of their own now! She also told me that after their visit that we were going to have our first "Brewer" 4th of July cookout. Daddy was going to cook all kinds of stuff on the grill and Mommy was going to make good soul food to go with it. All that sounded so yummy, but Mommy told me that I wouldn't get to really enjoy the food until next year (maybe)! Daddy then told me that after dinner they had a surprise for me... I was sooo excited that I didn't know what to do! I love surprises!!!!

After my breakfast milkshake and a bit later my lunch, Mrs. Barbara and Abby arrived. They both looked just adorable in their red, white, and blue! I couldn't take my eyes of Abby. She was walking around and showing me what I will be able to do one day. Mrs. Barbara was awesome! She played with me and I cuddled with her. After awhile in my room, Mommy put me in my bed and Abby joined me. My "sucker" fell out of my mouth and she picked it up and made sure it tasted good for me and then gave it back. She was sooo much fun! I can't wait until I get bigger and can do all the fun things she was showing me. Unfortunately, they had to leave and go back to visit with their family. I gave them hugs and kisses before they left. I hope that made them want to visit with us again because I had way to much fun!

Sure enough, after my visit with Barbara and Abby, Mommy and Daddy went to work getting things ready for our big 4th of July dinner! It looked delicious! I tried my hardest to get to mommy's plate of food, but my Bumbo seat wouldn't let me get close enough. I'm already looking forward to next years meal and the fact that maybe I'll be able to sample some of the food. After mommy and daddy ate, I got my 4th of July meal with a special side of apple juice! Once we were all full we sat down for some TV! I didn't last long.... a full belly sends me to dreamland especially at night! Right before I feel asleep mommy told me to rest good because after my evening nap was the big surprise they told me about that morning! She wasn't kidding! When I woke up we were in the car going to see another fireworks show! There were sooo many people there. I had way to much to look at and definately not enough time to take it all in. Once the fireworks started I wasn't interested in anything but the pretty colors in the sky! They were so pretty! Mommy let me have my bedtime bottle while the fireworks were popping. I thought that was just the best thing ever!

So as you can tell.... my first 4th of July was spectacular! I can't wait until our next one! I wonder what it will be like?
