Ending May in a Fun Way!

I'm back.... hahahaha!!! I bet you thought I'd forget to get you caught up. I'm determined folks.... so just bear with me. Alex is just dying to get his hands on the computer and fill you in on the last part of May, so I guess I'll just have to let him!

Hello everyone, its me.... Alex!
The last part of May was fantastic. We celebrated Memorial Day, Daddy's birthday, and the best part.... no more daycare everyday!!!!! I didn't realize it, but mommy and daddy were off work on Memorial Day, so that meant we all got to hang out together and celebrate a special holiday. Mommy told me that Memorial Day was a day that we remembered and thanked all those who are fighting and have fought for our freedom. She reminded me that her grandfather, my great grandfather, was one of those special people. To make the day feel more special, mommy and daddy took me to Glencoe and we rode through the town and found my great grandfather's flag that flew in his memory. Mommy told me that we did this last year too, but that I was way to small to remember it. I love listening to all the stories about PawPaw Lay! He sure sounds like a wonderful man and someone that I would have loved soooo much! After that, we came home and Daddy grilled out for us! Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! Bar B-Que Chicken, potatoe salad, green beans, toast, sweet tea.... it was delicious and yes I ate all that! We were all so stuffed and exhausted from a day full of fun that we colaspsed and called it a night. The next day, Mommy and I went shopping for Daddy's presents. Daddy kept on changing his mind about what he wanted, so me and mommy had a blast trying to pick out the final presents. On the 27th, after a long day at school, mommy and I picked up some balloons and cake and headed home to surprise daddy. I think we did a good job! I got to carry the balloons to him, but I wasn't ready to give them over.... I though I should get to play with them for a while first!

After some time of playing, daddy got his balloons and opened his presents! He loved them all!!! I think mommy and I planned a great birthday party for him! Of course, supper and then yummy cake were in the plans.
More tomorrow!
Alex
