This week has been a special one! It all started out with me getting to try out some new food. Mommy started me on applesauce and bananas this week. Yum, yum, yum is all I have to say. I can't get enough of that stuff! Mommy just laughs at me when i eat. She says I smack my lips and that makes her smile. I get so excited when she puts me in the highchair because I know what is coming! After all that food I get really tired and sleepy. This morning, I just about fell asleep eating my last bite. Mommy had to hurry and get me out of the highchair before my head hit the tray. Mommy tells me that one of these days she is going to get a video of me eating so that we can share our fun with all of you!
I've also been doing a lot of playing in my ExerSaucer. Mommy says that will help me learn to hold my head up while making my legs stronger. Don't tell her, but I just like playing with all the fun toys on the top of it. Me and the purple monkey always have fun staring at each other. I always win at that game!
And the best news yet, I turn 4 months old tomorrow!!!! Mommy told me we have a special long weekend with daddy so we are planning all kinds of fun stuff. Tomorrow we are carring our camper to our new river lot to set it up for us to play at whenever we want to. Sunday we are going to church and celebrating Memorial Day and honoring all those that have fought for our country. Mommy told me that my Great Grandfather served in the army. She said that in his honor there is a flag that flies out in Glencoe that has his name written on it. She said that we might go see it! She always tells me about what a wonderful man Paw Paw Lay was and that she wishes he could have met me. To continue our wonderful weekend, we are going to go play on the river Monday. We are taking the pontoon boat out so that I can have some shade while enjoying being outside and on the water. Then.... drumroll..... Tuesday is Daddy's big day! My Daddy has a birthday on Tuesday! Me and mommy have some special surprises for him and I'm doing all I can to not spill the beans! So as you can tell we have a very busy but fun weekend ahead of us. Mommy told me yesterday that she has bought extra batteries for the camera so that she can catch every exciting moment to share with you all. My wish for you all is that you have just as good a Memorial Day weekend as I do and that you take a special moment out of the weekend to say a prayer for all those men and women that are serving our country. I'll catch up with you all in a few day!
ps- Grandparents.... Mommy told me that we would be visiting with you all at some point this weekend, so get ready for my warm hugs and I'll get ready to be spoiled! XOXOXO
Alex

Oh my - the pic of him in the highchair with his lips poked out is tooooo funny! You need to blow that one up and maybe make it black and white for a nice matted frame - it's one to remember! Precious! Chad's b'day is right around Eric's....Eric's was yesterday (Saturday). Thankfully, Abby was feeling so much better and we were able to go out to dinner and come back for cake, ice cream and presents. 'course, there's no surprising Eric with his b'day because all he ever wants are golf clubs and he special orders his gifts himself! Ha! He even specified what cake this year....at least we know he got to enjoy his day exactly the way he wanted! Have a great Mem. Day weekend!
