Gone Fishin'

Howdy  partners,

Guess what!!!! I got to go fishin' with mommy and daddy! This was our first fishin' trip this year. It was also my first time out on daddy's bass boat. I was a little unsure of the boat at first, especially when we backed into the water, but once I got up in daddy's lap I knew all was good. The ride to our favorite fishin' hole was windy and I just wasn't sure about how to handle that. I ended up cuddling up in mommy's arms and watching the water behind the boat. That was really comfy and I almost fell sound asleep, but no worries; when the boat stopped I was up and ready to fish with my Mickey Mouse rod and reel.
Daddy had gotten us some minnows to fish and play with. So while he was busy getting the rods ready, I was busy making sure those minnows knew how to swim and were very aware that I was present and ready to play. They were fun to catch in my hand and I just giggled when they would start to squirm to try and free themselves. I was so caught up in the fun, that I missed seeing daddy put a minnow on my hook. When I turned around to take my rod from him, I was just thrilled that I had already caught a fish and had never even put my line in the water!!!! I shouted fisk, fisk... as loud as I could and all mommy and daddy could do was laugh really, really loud! Mommy finally explained that the minnow wasn't the fish I caught, that it was going to help me catch a "real" fish. I was really confused and continued to bask in the joy of my fish!
At that point daddy put me in his lap and began showing me how to cast my line and reel it in. I like that for a while and then it became very boring. I was about to give up and then it hit me... I had an entire bucket of fish right there in the boat! I just decided to fish for them and I knew I would be able to catch a fish in that water! That didn't last to long for me either and I was beginning to become VERY frustrated. Daddy talked me into trying the "big water" one more time and I am so glad I listened to him! I GOT A BITE!!!! I was a little scared of what was going on, but as it came up out of the water I saw it! It was a "real" fish. Daddy kept saying something about crapie, but all I know is it was a fisk. I yelled and yelled as loud as I could. Daddy wanted me to touch and hold it, but I just hit it and laughed. After a few pictures for mommy, we threw the fisk back and all was good!!!!!
